Objective:
- To provide a comprehensive review and update on the knowledge on clinical application of interventional options relevant to vascular and interventional radiology
- To inform the candidate of the necessary practical skills required to perform key interventional procedures independently
- To equip the candidate of an understanding of the various disease processes in terms of epidemiology, patho-physiology, clinical manifestations, investigations, management strategies, treatment alternatives and expected outcomes / prognosis
- To facilitate interaction and cooperation among medical and health professionals working in different disciplines and specialties
- To cultivate a sense of patient care that is patient -centered, compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of diseases
Expected Learning Outcomes:
- Candidates are expected to obtain competence in interventional radiology to the level expected of a specialist interventional radiologist
- Candidates are expected to understand the disease processes relevant to their specialty interest
- Candidates are expected to understand the respective disease prognoses, with and without treatment
- Candidates are expected to understand the respective treatment alternatives
- Candidates are expected to understand the limitations and expected outcomes of interventional procedures
- Candidates are expected to responsibly perform or assist interventional radiological procedures
- Candidates are expected to recognize and manage complications of interventional procedure
- Candidates are expected to consent patients by explaining the above in a clear manner
- Candidates are expected to select the appropriate patients for treatment
- Candidates are expected to appropriately manage patients under their care
- Candidates are expected to work within multidisciplinary teams
- Candidates are expected to recognize their limitations and refer cases accordingly

Graduation requirements:
- Certificate will be awarded to candidates who have attended AT LEAST 75% of the year 1 OR year 2 programme AND successfully passed the programme assessment at the end of that year.
- Attendance of individual session will acquire CME, CNE and CPD for the session
- Diploma will be awarded to candidates who have attended AT LEAST 75% of the 2-year programme AND successfully passed the programme assessment at the end of BOTH year 1 and 2
